Swing Bed

The Swing Bed Program allows individuals to recover and gain strength as they transition from acute care to home. This specialized care focuses on strengthening and increasing independence. It is a short-term stay that provides a level of care between hospital acute care and home for those patients who continue to need daily skilled nursing care and/or skilled rehabilitation.
Swing bed stays assist patients in improving their physical, emotional and social functioning abilities to ensure a safer and smoother transition back home. Nurses and Clinical Staff will care for you 24/7. They are responsible for administering medications and treatments, providing patient and family members with education and helping you add therapy skills into your daily activities. Physical Therapists will work with you to strengthen muscles, improve coordination and balance and develop walking and mobility skills to gain your desired level of mobility.

In addition, we have a dedicated Swing Bed exercise room to assist our patients in their rehabilitation. Our exercise room includes an Omni-cycle and a Continuous Passive Motion (CPM) machine.

For more information, please contact our Swing Bed Coordinator, Christine Nelson-Fults at (530) 708-8800 ext. 11212.
