In the event of a medical emergency, you can count on MMC to be there for you. Our experienced and board-certified emergency medicine physicians and caring, compassionate staff members are here to serve you 24-hours a day.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT FROM US

OUR ER PHYSICIANS

Our Emergency Room Physicians are board-certified in Emergency Medicine and have years of experience in Emergency Services. Our current ER Physicians have been serving Modoc County since 2007.

DIAGNOSTIC SERVICES

Your convenience and comfort will be maximized with our diagnostic bedside services, which include portable X-Ray, Ultrasound, and Laboratory Services. Our CT scanner is also housed outside the Emergency Room, and our emergent Laboratory and Radiology Services are available 24 hours a day.

DISCHARGE

If, following your Emergency Room visit, you are well enough to be discharged, your nurse will review the doctor’s discharge instructions and give you information on how to care for your injury or illness at home.

Your nurse will refer you to your primary care provider for any needed follow-up care.

EMERGENCY ROOM PHYSICIANS

Jay Lai, M.D.

Dr. Lai is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He is fellowship trained in Hospitalist Medicine. Dr. Lai has also given presentations on Heparin-Induced Thrombocytopenia, Ultrasound Guided Procedures, and Drug Eruptions.

Matthew Farson, M.D.

Dr. Farson is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. He was an editorial consultant for three editions of the Tarascon Primary Care Pocketbook and he has received several awards for his work and support of Family Practice Residency programs. He received the Family Practice Faculty of the Year Award, Residency Class of 1998 and 1999, Family Practice Role Model Award, Outstanding Support of Residents Award and Family Practice Hero Award, Class of 2005.

Thomas Dunlop, M.D.

Dr. Dunlop is certified by the American Board of Family Medicine. Some of his lectures include Comparison of Alternative Topical Anesthetic to T.A.C., Pain Control in Bone Marrow Examination, Pneumonia, Travel Medicine and HIV.

Thomas Lambert M.D., M.O.H., M.S.

Dr. Lambert is board certified in Emergency Medicine and Internal Medicine. He has a number of publications to his credit including Coal Worker’s Pneumoconiosis Public Health Reporting, Phthalic Anhydride – Health Effects, Dichlorobenzene, and Monochloro-toluene Exposure.
